Assistant Manager - Logistics Controller
The Mission As the Global Trade Integrator, you bridge the gap between high-level strategy and regional execution. You support the Global Trade Manager in transforming manual oversight into automated, data-driven workflows. You are a supervisor of process health and a driver of systemic improvement. Your goal is to ensure that while local teams own their cargo and compliance, the regional office has the data visibility to manage global performance by exception.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Tactical Governance & Monitoring
Process Oversight: Monitor regional trade data flows to ensure local teams are adhering to global governance standards.
First-Level Escalation: Act as the primary point of contact for complex operational bottlenecks or non-routine clearance issues escalated by local teams.
System Integration: Ensure that data standards defined by other specialized divisions (e.g., HS Division) are correctly mapped into the regional automation tools.
2. Data & Automation Execution
Automation Roadmap: Assist the Manager in identifying manual "logic" in regional reporting and translating it into technical requirements for IT to automate.
Dashboard Ownership: Own the accuracy of regional trade dashboards, ensuring that the "story" behind the numbers is visible and accurate for management.
Exception Management: Refine the "management by exception" process, training the team to flag only high-risk anomalies rather than manually checking routine transactions.
3. Compliance & Research
Origin & Valuation Specialist: Provide deep-dive expertise in Rules of Origin, Customs Valuation, and regional Trade Lane optimization.
FTA Strategy: Conduct research into duty-saving opportunities (FTAs) and feasibility studies for new global trade routes.
4. Leadership & Synergy
Team Coaching: Directly supervise Executives, shifting their focus from "checking paperwork" to "analyzing data trends."
Stakeholder Synergy: Partner with internal departments and local teams to turn friction into efficient, automated workflows.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline.
Experience: 5–8 years in Global Trade, Export/Import, or Regulatory Compliance (FMCG/Retail preferred).
Skills: Strong analytical mindset with proficiency in Excel/Data tools. Expert knowledge of Origin rules, Customs valuation, and FTAs.
Mindset: A "Process Architect" who hates manual work and loves finding automated solutions.
Language: Fluency in English; Mandarin is a strong advantage for regional coordination.
